OSDA Dress Codes 2025-26
Dancers must be in proper dress code for all classes. Option 1 is traditionally feminine while Option 2 is traditionally masculine. If any dancer is uncomfortable with the dress code because of religious, health, or gender expression reasons, please speak with the director and accommodations can be made.

Dancewear must be purchased from a dance supply store. We now have a page with links to recommended dress code items at Gabie's Boutique.

Preschool/Primary/Beginner Highland dancers who are not competing can wear black leather ballet shoes instead of highland shoes. If you want to order proper highland shoes, contact the Academy and we will send you a link.
Preschool Ballet
Option 1: pink leotard, pink ballet skirts optional, pink tights & pink canvas ballet shoes OR skin-tone ballet tights & skin-tone canvas ballet shoes
Option 2: white or light pink t-shirt, black shorts, white ankle socks, white canvas ballet shoes
Primary Ballet
Option 1: lilac bodysuit, lilac skirt optional, pink tights & pink canvas ballet shoes OR skin-tone ballet tights & skin-tone canvas ballet shoes
Option 2: white or lilac t-shirt, black shorts or tights, white ankle socks, white canvas ballet shoes
Junior/Elementary/Advanced Ballet
Option 1: black, lilac, purple, marine blue, or teal bodysuit, ballet skirt optional in the same colour options, pink tights & pink canvas ballet shoes OR skin-tone ballet tights & skin-tone canvas ballet shoes
Option 2: white, black, lilac, purple, marine blue, or teal t-shirt, black shorts or tights, white ankle socks, white canvas ballet shoes
Adult Ballet/Contemporary
Comfortable workout clothes, canvas or leather ballet shoes recommended.
Preschool Highland
Option 1: pink leotard, black or light pink shorts, white knee socks, black highland shoes
Option 2: white or light pink t-shirt, black shorts, white knee socks, black highland shoes
Primary Highland
Option 1: lilac bodysuit, black or lilac shorts, white knee socks, black highland shoes

Beginner/Novice/Intermediate/Premier Highland

Contemporary

Tap
Same dress code options as Contemporary, and black tap shoes!
Adult Highland
Comfortable workout clothes, leather ballet shoes or highland shoes recommended.
Parent & Tot PreDance
Comfortable, moveable clothing (no jeans!) and bare feet or non-slippery socks for both parents and tots!

RAD Ballet Intermediate Foundation (and up)
